If you are an independent contractor, you can apply for the line of credit as a sole proprietorship.
Typically, a completed application will be processed in 3-5 business days. However, if we need additional information or to correct a mistake in the application, the application processing time will depend upon how long it takes to receive and process the requested information from the applicant.
No problem! Please indicate in the application that your business address is the same as your home address. If you do not have a separate business address, your home address should be used instead. Please remember that a P.O. box number cannot be used as a valid address.
After you submit your application, you’re all set until you hear from us. We may request additional information in order to help us verify your identity.
In order to verify your identity or other information on your application, we may request additional documentation. Some common scenarios where we would request more information would be if you’ve moved in the past 6 months or if your name has recently changed.
If you have another bank account, you can attempt to link it in order to proceed. If the account that is used for your business cannot be linked, we suggest you also upload those bank statements for review to improve your chances of qualifying. You can also upload any additional documents on the same step of the application. If you do not have another bank account that can be linked, unfortunately, we cannot process your application at this time.
If you have not completed your application, no further action is required as your application will automatically expire. If you have submitted an application, and you’d like to cancel, you can do so through your dashboard.
We believe that a business owner's prior credit history (or lack of credit history) should not prevent them from getting credit for their existing or new business. Instead, we focus on the current prospects of your business and you as a business owner. Our decisioning process focuses on a broader set of underwriting criteria for a line of credit than other financial institutions.
- The information you provide about yourself and your business;
- Your business’s current finances (from bank accounts and vendors that you link with us);
We believe that every business owner should have an opportunity to show that they deserve credit, regardless of their past credit history. Please note that we can only make a credit decision only when we've received and processed your completed application.
In order to make payments to your line of credit, you have to have one bank account linked at all times. You can link your bank account using Plaid, which requires your online login and password to your online banking provider. If you cannot find your bank when attempting to link through Plaid, at this time we will not be able to accept that bank account. We are currently developing a feature that will help users link bank accounts that are unable to be linked via plaid.
Plaid is partnered with most major banks and community banks. Over 9,600 banks in the US are partnered with Plaid. If you have a First Republic Commercial bank account, you currently cannot link that account through Plaid.
