Hatch is delighted to announce its new $5,000 grant for LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs in partnership with the SF LGBT Center and its New Entrepreneur Training Program. At the conclusion of the program, all students will make a short presentation for a panel of judges from the Center and Hatch. Based on these presentations, the $5,000 grant will be awarded to one outstanding small business owner.
The SF LGBT Center provides resources, support, and a safe space for all members of the LGBTQ community. The center hosts over 200+ programs and services, including their selection of Small Business Services. These include small business consulting, workshops, and their New Entrepreneur Training Program, which Hatch will be sponsoring with a $5,000 grant.
The New Entrepreneur Training Program is a free, 8-week intensive training program with five budding entrepreneurs per cohort. Each week, participants attend a three-hour lecture and discussion session and complete weekly assignments outside of class. Throughout the 8 weeks, entrepreneurs will learn all aspects of business management, including strategic business planning, management, and finance. The program is led by small business consultant Eddie Tang, who holds over 25 years of experience in the finance and business consulting industry. Eddie is currently the CEO of his Bay Area-based management consulting firm, Above Consulting.
At the end of the program, participants will present their business plans to a panel of judges, which may include prominent entrepreneurs, business consultants, potential investors, and a Hatch team member. Based on select criteria, one participant will be chosen to receive a $5,000 grant from Hatch for their small business.
